One Winner, Many Great Ideas

Picking a single winner was never going to be easy, and the voting results showed just how strong the whole field was. While matt-fidd's design won the vote, we will likely take ideas from every submission as we build. What this competition really gave us is a clear picture of the look and feel this community prefers, and that's exactly what we needed.

Now the fun part: turning the winning design into reality. Work on the new sidenav will begin shortly.

One honest note for everyone joining in: some ideas will get rejected, and there will be pushback along the way. Please don't be disheartened. That's a normal part of the design process, and there will be iterations until we release. Every round of feedback gets us closer to a sidenav we're all proud of.
